After a successful cSkills installation at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (UHB) wanted to implement our recording solution as part of a refurbishment to the medical education centre at the University Hospital Llandough. The refurbishment included 3 seminar rooms, a 3-bedded ward area, resus room and control room.
The main requirements of the project included:
Working with the main building contractor, we specified the required power and data cabling which would be required to meet the client’s requirements prior to installation, and ensured there was suitable containment routes for our cabling to ensure a clean finish after installation was complete.
The system in place now provides a flexible and easy way to record, view live, and playback to aid in simulation and training throughout the medical education centre. Various camera groups (up to 4 cameras or streams) were set up initially for each room, the streams of which can be viewed in full screen or a quad split.
cSkills is an IP based system, so changing or adding to the streams that are available within a group is a straightforward process. This provides a great degree of future proofing and flexibility allowing the system to adapt and change as the needs of the suite evolve.
The cSkills system was chosen as part of the new mobile "simbulance", a fully functional ambulance used to train and educate medics all over the region.
